Kollur Mookambika Temple is one of a kind as the main deity is significantly represented in three different forms (Tridevi or Adiparashakthi) in the different periods of the day.
As per this age-old ritual, here the goddess is worshiped in the form of Maha-Gauri in the morning, as Maha-Lakshmi during the afternoon and in the evening as Maha-Saraswati.
Amongst all her three forms, Mookambika is highly glorified as Saraswathi who is the patron goddess of education and fine arts.
It is considered as a sacred destination for Indian classical artists and students to present their first stage performance of Arangettam and other musicals.
Shri Adi Shankara is also believed to have meditated and offered intense worship here to pacify Goddess Saraswati.
